There is no jalab, no janab, and no iʿtirāḍ; a city-dweller must not sell for a desert-dweller; and do not leave the udders of camels and sheep unmilked to deceive buyers. Whoever buys them after that has the better of the two options once he has milked them: if he is pleased with her he may keep her, and if he is displeased he may return her along with a ṣāʿ of dates. ʿĀṣim b. ʿUbaydillāh corroborated him, from Sālim, from Ibn ʿUmar, concerning the animal whose milk was withheld (muṣarrāh); Dāwūd b. ʿĪsā narrated from him. And al-Ḥasan b. ʿUmārah said, from al-Ḥakam, from Ibn Abī Laylā, from ʿAlī, from the Prophet ﷺ. And Abū Shaybah said, from Abū Hurayrah. And Shuʿbah said, from a man from among the Companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ.
