✧ Ma'iz b. Malik came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, I have committed adultery. But he turned away from him, until he said it four times. When it was the fifth time, he said: You committed adultery? He said: Yes. He said: And do you know what adultery is? He said: Yes, I came to her in a forbidden way, the way a man comes to his wife in a lawful way. He said: What do you seek by this statement? He said: I want you to purify me. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: Did you enter that part of you into that part of her, as the needle disappears into the kohl container and the stick into the thing? He said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. So he ordered him stoned, and he was stoned. Then the Prophet ﷺ heard two men, one of them saying to his companion: Did you not see this man? Allah had concealed his sin, but his own self did not leave him until he was stoned like the stoning of a dog. The Prophet ﷺ walked on a little, then passed by the carcass of a donkey and said: Where are so-and-so and so-and-so? Come down and eat from the carcass of this donkey. They said: May Allah forgive you, O Messenger of Allah, is this edible? He said: What you said about your brother earlier is more severe in eating than this. By the One in whose hand is my soul, he is now in the rivers of Paradise, plunging into them.
