أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَنْبَأَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ( ح ) قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ، ثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، قَالَا: ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، ثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ:

لَمَّا أَمَرَنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ نَرْجُمَ مَاعِزَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، خَرَجْنَا بِهِ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ، فَوَاللهِ، مَا حَفَرْنَا لَهُ، وَلَا أَوْثَقْنَاهُ، وَلَكِنَّهُ قَامَ لَنَا فَرَمَيْنَاهُ بِالْعِظَامِ وَالْخَزَفِ فَاشْتَكَى، فَخَرَجَ يَشْتَدُّ حَتَّى انْتَصَبَ لَنَا فِي عُرْضِ الْحَرَّةِ، فَرَمَيْنَاهُ بِجَلَامِيدِ الْجَنْدَلِ حَتَّى سَكَتَ
