  1. Abū Hurayrah

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ stood at al-Hajun in the year of the conquest and said: "By God, you are the best land of God, and had I not been expelled from you, I would not have left. It was not made lawful for anyone before me; it was only made lawful for me for an hour of the day. Then it is sacred from this hour of mine: its trees shall not be cut, its fresh herbage shall not be gathered, and its lost property shall not be picked up except by one who will announce it." A man called Shah—whom people claimed was al-Abbas—said: "O Messenger of God, except for idhkhir (a kind of sweet rush), for it is for our houses and our graves." The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Except for idhkhir."
