✧ When Abdullah b. Umar went to his bed, he would say: O God, You created my soul and You take it in death; to You belong its life and its death. O God, if You take it, forgive it, and if You keep it alive, protect it. O God, I ask You for well-being. A man of his children said to him: Father, did Umar say this? He said: Rather, one better than Umar used to say it. He said: We thought he meant the Prophet ﷺ.
