✧ I went out with two anklets to sell them, and our family had become in need of provisions. I saw Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, and he said: 'Where do you intend?' I said: 'Our family has become in need of provisions, so I wanted to sell these two anklets.' He said: 'I have come out with some dirhams wanting better silver than them.' He placed the anklets in one pan and the dirhams in the other, and the anklets outweighed the dirhams somewhat. He called for a pair of scissors. I said: 'Glory be to Allah! It is yours, it is yours.' He said: 'If you leave it, Allah will not leave it. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Gold for gold, like for like, and silver for silver, like for like. The one who gives more and the one who takes more are in the Fire."'
