✧ I was not veiled from three—or not prevented from three—from private conversation, and from such-and-such, and from such-and-such. Abdullah said: My uncle forgot one, and I forgot the other, and this one remained. I came to him while Malik al-Rahawi was with him, and I caught the end of their conversation while he was saying: O Messenger of God, I am a man who has been given a share of beauty such as you see, and I do not love that anyone should surpass me even by two sandal-straps or more. Is that insolence? He said: No, but insolence is one who treats the truth lightly and belittles people.
