حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ أنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ الْتَقَطَ وَلَدَ زِنًى فَجَاءَ بِهِ عُمَرَ ؓ فَقَالَ «اذْهَبْ فَاسْتَرْضِعْ بِمَالِ اللهِ وَلَكَ وَلَاؤُهُ» قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ «وَالرَّجُلُ الَّذِي الْتَقَطَهُ فَجَاءَ بِهِ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ أَخْبَرَنِي ذَلِكَ نَفْسَهُ»

✧ He informed him that he picked up an illegitimate child and brought him to ʿUmar ؓ, who said, “Go and have him suckled with the wealth of Allah, and you shall have his clientage.” Ibn Shihāb said, “The man who picked him up and brought him to ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb—he himself reported that to me.”
