أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى الْمَوْصِلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ:

دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْمَسْجِدَ، وَحَوْلَ الْكَعْبَةِ ثَلَاثُمِائَةٍ وَسِتُّونَ صَنَمًا، فَجَعَلَ يَطْعَنُهَا بِعُودٍ كَانَ مَعَهُ، وَيَقُولُ: جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا

✧ The Prophet ﷺ entered the mosque, and around the Kaʿbah were three hundred and sixty idols. He began striking them with a stick he had with him and saying: “The truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish.”
