✧ The Messenger of God made an appointment with Jibril (peace be upon them both) at an hour when he would come to him. That hour came but he did not come, and in his hand was a staff; he threw it from his hand and said: God does not break His promise, nor do His messengers. Then he turned and saw a puppy under the bed. He said: O Aisha, when did this dog enter here? She said: By God, I did not notice it. He ordered it to be taken out, and it was removed. Then Jibril came, and the Messenger of God ﷺ said: You made an appointment with me, and I sat waiting for you, but you did not come. He said: The dog that was in your house prevented me. We do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.
