حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْعُمَرِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ قَالَ

دَخَلَتْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْكَآبَةُ فَقُلْتُ مَا لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ وَعَدَنِي أَنْ يَأْتِيَنِي وَلَمْ يَأْتِنِي مُنْذُ ثَلَاثٍ» قَالَ وَإِذَا كَلْبٌ قَالَ أُسَامَةُ فَوَضَعْتُ يَدِي عَلَى رَأْسِي فَصِحْتُ فَقَالَ «مَا لَكَ يَا أُسَامَةُ؟» فَقُلْتُ كَلْبٌ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقُتِلَ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ فَقَالَ مَا لَكَ لَمِ تَأْتِنِي وَكُنْتَ إِذَا وَعَدْتَنِي لَمْ تُخْلِفْنِي فَقَالَ إِنَّا لَا نَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ وَلَا تَصَاوِيرُ

✧ Gloom entered upon the Prophet ﷺ. I said: 'What is the matter with you, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Jibril ﷺ promised me that he would come to me, but he has not come to me for three days.' He said: And there was a dog. Usamah said: I put my hand on my head and shouted. He said: 'What is the matter with you, O Usamah?' I said: 'A dog.' So the Prophet ﷺ ordered it and it was killed. Then Jibril came to him and said: 'What is the matter with you that you did not come to me? When you promise me, you do not break it.' He said: 'We do not enter a house in which there is a dog or images.'
