حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ:

جَلَسَ رَجُلٌ بِفِنَاءِ حُجْرَةِ عَائِشَةَ، فَجَعَلَ يَتَحَدَّثُ، قَالَ: فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: لَوْلَا أَنِّي كُنْتُ أُسَبِّحُ لَقُلْتُ لَهُ: مَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ يَسْرُدُ الْحَدِيثَ كَسَرْدِكُمْ، إِنَّمَا كَانَ حَدِيثُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَصْلًا، تَفْهَمُهُ الْقُلُوبُ

Translation

✧ A man sat in the courtyard of 'A'ishah's chamber and began to talk. 'A'ishah said: 'Were it not that I was engaged in glorifying God, I would have said to him: The Messenger of God ﷺ did not string words together the way you do; rather, the speech of the Messenger of God ﷺ was distinct, understood by hearts.'
