حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زَرْبِيٌّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:

جَاءَ شَيْخٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي حَاجَتِهِ فَأَبْطَئُوا عَنِ الشَّيْخِ أَنْ يُوَسِّعُوا لَهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا، وَيُوَقِّرْ كَبِيرَنَا

Translation

✧ An old man came to the Prophet ﷺ for a need, and the people were slow to make room for him. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: He is not one of us who does not show mercy to our young and honor our elders.
