حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:
مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا أَرْحَمَ بِالْعِيَالِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ اسْتَرْضَعَ لِابْنِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بِأَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ، وَكَانَ زَوْجُهَا قَيْنًا، وَكَانَ يَأْتِيهِ، فَيَأْتِيهِ الْغُلَامُ وَعَلَيْهِ أَثَرُ الدُّخَانِ فَيَلْتَزِمُهُ وَيُقَبِّلُهُ وَيَشُمُّهُ
Translation

✧ I have not seen anyone more merciful to children than the Messenger of God ﷺ. He had arranged for his son Ibrahim to be suckled at the outskirts of Madinah. Her husband was a blacksmith. He would come to him, and the boy would come to him with traces of smoke on him, and he would embrace him, kiss him, and smell him.
