✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ and he laughed, then said: 'Do you know what I am laughing about?' He said: We said: 'God and His Messenger know best.' He said: 'From the address of a servant to his Lord. He says: "O Lord, did You not protect me from wrongdoing?" He said: He, Mighty and Majestic, says: "Yes." He says: "Then I will not accept against myself any witness except from me." He said: Then He says: "Your own self suffices as a witness against you, and the noble recording angels as witnesses." He said: Then his mouth is sealed, and his limbs are told: "Speak." He said: Then they speak of his deeds. Then he said: 'He is released from speech, and he says: "Away with you and far off! It was on your behalf that I used to strive."
