أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُفَضَّلِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ
أَبْطَأَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ لَقَدْ تَرَكَهُ صَاحِبُهُ فَأُنْزِلَتْ {وَالضُّحَى وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَى} [الضحى 2]

✧ Jibril was slow in coming to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and a woman said, 'His companion has abandoned him.' Then it was revealed: {By the morning brightness and the night when it covers} [al-Duha 1-2].
