حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ الطَّوِيلُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَنَسٍ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ اسْتَصْفَى صَفِيَّةَ لِنَفْسِهِ - أَوْ: بِنَفْسِهِ - حَتَّى إِذَا أَتَى الصَّهْبَاءَ عَرَّسَ بِهَا، فَأَمَرَنِي فَدَعَوْتُ مَنْ كَانَ حَوْلَهُ، وَأَتَى بِسَوِيقٍ وَتَمْرٍ، فَكَانَتْ تِلْكَ وَلِيمَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ. قَالَ: وَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَحُوزُ لَهَا - أَوْ: يُحَوِّي لَهَا - ثُمَّ يَضَعُ لَهَا رِجْلَهُ حَتَّى تَرْكَبَ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ selected Safiyyah for himself – or: by himself – until when he came to al-Sahba', he stopped with her. He ordered me, and I invited those around him, and he brought sawiq and dates. That was the wedding feast of the Messenger of God ﷺ. He said: And I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ gathering for her – or: making a seat for her – then placing his leg for her so she could mount.
