✧ My dear son, keep my secret and you will be a believer. My mother and the wives of the Prophet ﷺ used to ask me about the secret of the Messenger of God ﷺ, but I would not tell them, and I will never tell the secret of the Messenger of God ﷺ to anyone ever. And he said: My dear son, be thorough in performing ablution, and your guardian angels will love you and your lifespan will be increased. O Anas, be thorough in washing from major impurity, for you will emerge from your bath with no sin or error upon you. He said: I said: "How is thoroughness, O Messenger of God?" He said: "Wet the roots of the hair and cleanse the skin. My dear son, if you can always be in a state of ablution, then do so, for whoever death comes to while he is in a state of ablution will be granted martyrdom. My dear son, if you can always be praying, then do so, for the angels pray for you as long as you pray. O Anas, when you bow, place your palms firmly on your knees, spread your fingers, and raise your elbows from your sides. My dear son, when you raise your head from bowing, let every limb of yours return to its place, for God will not look on the Day of Resurrection at one who does not straighten his back between his bowing and prostration. My dear son, when you prostrate, place your forehead and palms firmly on the ground, and do not peck like a rooster, and do not sit like a dog—or he said: a fox. Beware of turning around in prayer, for turning around in prayer is destruction. If it is necessary, then in the voluntary prayer, not in the obligatory. My dear son, when you go out of your house, let not your eye fall upon anyone of the people of the qibla without greeting him, for you will return forgiven. My dear son, when you enter your home, greet yourself and your family. My dear son, if you can wake up in the morning and evening with no deceit in your heart toward anyone, then do so, for it will be easier for you in the reckoning. My dear son, if you follow my advice, then let nothing be dearer to you than death."
