✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ went out when the sun had declined and prayed the noon prayer. When he had said the salutation, he stood on the pulpit and mentioned the Hour, and mentioned that before it there are great matters. He said: Whoever wishes to ask about anything, let him ask about it. For by God, you will not ask me about anything but that I will tell you of it as long as I remain in this station of mine. Anas said: A man rose to him and said: Where is the entrance of my father, O Messenger of God? He said: The Fire. Then Abdullah b. Hudhafah rose and said: Who is my father, O Messenger of God? He said: Your father is Hudhafah. Then he repeated many times: Ask me. Umar knelt on his knees and said: We are content with God as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad as Messenger. The Messenger of God ﷺ fell silent when Umar said that. Then the Prophet ﷺ said: By Him in whose hand is my soul, Paradise and the Fire were displayed to me just now in the breadth of this wall, and I have not seen as today in good and evil. Al-Zuhri said: And Ubayd Allah b. Abdullah b. Utbah informed me: The mother of Abdullah b. Hudhafah said: I have never seen a son more disobedient than you. Did you feel secure that your mother might have committed something in the pre-Islamic period, and you would expose her before the women? Abdullah said: By God, if he had attached me to a black slave, I would have attached myself to him.
