✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a man from his companions to one of the leaders of the polytheists to call him to Allah. He said: This god to whom you call, is he of silver or of copper? His words weighed heavily on the chest of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He returned to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. He said: Return to him and call him to Allah. He returned, and he said to him the same as his previous words. He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him. He said: Return and call him to Allah. Then Allah sent a thunderbolt upon him. He returned, and he said to him the same as his previous words. He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him. He said: Return to him and call him to Allah. And the Messenger of Allah was on the road, not knowing. He came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him that Allah had destroyed his companion. And it was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ: 'He sends thunderbolts and strikes with them whom He wills, while they dispute about Allah.'
