أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

كَانَ نَفَرٌ مِنَ الْإِنْسِ يَعْبُدُونَ الْجِنِّ فَأَسْلَمَ الْجِنُّ وَثَبَتَ الْإِنْسُ عَلَى عِبَادَتِهِمْ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ يَبْتَغُونَ إِلَى رَبِّهِمُ الْوَسِيلَةَ} [الإسراء 57]

✧ There was a group of humans who used to worship the jinn. Then the jinn embraced Islam, but the humans remained upon their worship of them. So Allah, exalted is He, revealed: {Those whom they call upon seek nearness to their Lord...} [al-Isra: 57].
