حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ

أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لِأَنَسٍ: هَلْ كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ خَاتَمٌ ؟ قَالَ: أَخَّرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ شَطْرُ اللَّيْلِ - أَوْ: كَادَ يَذْهَبُ شَطْرُ اللَّيْلِ - ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ صَلَّوْا، وَلَنْ تَزَالُوا فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا انْتَظَرْتُمُ الصَّلَاةَ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ: فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى وَبِيصِ خَاتَمِهِ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، قَالَ: وَرَفَعَ أَنَسٌ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى يُرِينَا

Translation

✧ They said to Anas: Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ have a ring? He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once delayed the night prayer until half the night had passed — or: nearly half the night had passed — then he came and said: The people have already prayed, and you will continue to be in prayer as long as you wait for the prayer. Anas said: It is as if I can still see the gleam of his silver ring. He said: And Anas raised his left hand to show us.
