✧ This verse was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ on his return from al-Hudaybiyyah. It was revealed while his companions were overcome with grief, and they were prevented from completing their rites, so they slaughtered the sacrificial animals at al-Hudaybiyyah. When this verse was revealed, he said to his companions, 'A verse has been revealed to me that is dearer to me than the entire world.' When the Prophet of God ﷺ recited it, a man from the people said, 'Congratulations, O Prophet of God! God has made clear what He will do with you, but what will He do with us?' Then God revealed after it: 'That He may admit the believing men and believing women into gardens beneath which rivers flow' – the verse.
