✧ We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on one of his journeys. When we were on part of the road, I spoke to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was silent. Then I spoke to the Messenger of Allah and he was silent. Then I spoke to the Messenger of Allah and he was silent. So I urged my mount and moved aside, and I said: You asked the Prophet ﷺ three times, and each time he did not speak to you. How likely it is that a Qur'an will be sent down concerning you! No sooner did I hear a caller shouting to me than he said to me: O Ibn al-Khattab, a surah was sent down to me tonight which I would not love to have anything over which the sun rises in exchange for it. Then he recited: 'Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory.'
