✧ The believers will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection and will be concerned about that. He said: They will say: 'If only we could intercede with our Lord so that He might relieve us from this place of ours.' He said: So they will set out until they come to Adam and say: 'O Adam, you are the father of mankind. Allah created you with His hand, made His angels prostrate to you, and taught you the names of all things. Intercede for us with your Lord so that He may relieve us from this place of ours.' He said: He will say: 'I am not in a position to do that,' and he will mention his error that he committed by eating from the tree. He said: He will say: 'But go to Nūḥ, the first messenger Allah sent.' He said: So they will set out until they come to Nūḥ, and he will say: 'I am not in a position to do that,' and he will mention his error that he committed by asking his Lord for what he had no knowledge of. He said: He will say: 'Go to Ibrāhīm, the intimate friend of the Most Merciful.' He said: So they will set out until they come to Ibrāhīm, and he will say: 'I am not in a position to do that,' and he will mention his three lies: his saying, 'Rather, this one, the greatest of them, did it'; his saying, 'Indeed, I am ill'; and his saying when he came upon the tyrant: 'Tell him that I am your brother, for I will tell him that you are my sister, for we are two believers in the Book of Allah; there are no believers on earth other than us.' He said: He will say: 'But go to Mūsā, the one to whom Allah spoke and gave the Torah.' So they will set out until they come to Mūsā, and he will say: 'I am not in a position to do that,' and he will mention his error that he committed before. He said: He will say: 'But go to ʿĪsā, the servant of Allah and His messenger, and His word and His spirit.' He said: So they will set out until they come to ʿĪsā, and he will say: 'I am not in a position to do that, but go to Muhammad ﷺ, may Allah forgive him his past and future sins.' He said: So they will come to me, and I will ask permission from my Lord, and permission will be granted to me. When I see Him, I will fall prostrate, and He will leave me as long as Allah wills to leave me. Then He will say to me: 'Raise your head, O Muhammad. Speak and you will be heard; intercede and your intercession will be accepted; ask and you will be given.' So I will raise my head and praise my Lord with a praise that He will teach me. Then I will intercede, and He will set a limit for me, and I will bring them out of the Fire and admit them to Paradise. Then I will return to my Lord a second time, and when I see my Lord I will fall prostrate, and He will leave me as long as Allah wills to leave me. Then it will be said to me: 'Raise your head, Muhammad. Speak and you will be heard; intercede and your intercession will be accepted; ask and you will be given.' So I will raise my head and praise my Lord with a praise that He will teach me. Then I will intercede, and He will set a limit for me, and I will bring them out of the Fire and admit them to Paradise. Then I will return a third time to my Lord, and when I see my Lord I will fall prostrate, and He will leave me as long as Allah wills to leave me. Then it will be said to me: 'Raise your head, Muhammad. Speak and you will be heard; intercede and your intercession will be accepted; ask and you will be given.' So I will raise my head and praise my Lord with a praise that He will teach me. Then I will intercede, and He will set a limit for me, and I will bring them out of the Fire and admit them to Paradise, until I return to my Lord and it is said the fourth time. He said: Then I will say: 'O Lord, no one remains in the Fire except those whom the Quran has held back.' He said: He will say: 'Eternal abode has become due upon him.'
