✧ Abu Talhah learned that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had no food, so he went and hired himself out for a sa' of barley and worked that day. He came with it and said: "Bake this." He said: "It is barley, but make it into khatifah." She made it. He sent Anas b. Malik and said: "Go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and tell him privately." Anas went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was with his companions and said: "Food?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Get up." So they got up. When Anas came to Abu Talhah, he said: "I said that." He said: "Food?" I disliked lying, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up and invited ten. They entered and ate until they were full. Then he invited ten more, and they entered and ate until they were full. Then he invited ten more, and they entered and ate until they were full. Then there remained for his family enough to satisfy them.
