✧ Anas was asked about the dyeing of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not have gray hair except a little, but Abu Bakr and 'Umar dyed with henna and katam." He said: Abu Bakr brought his father Abu Quhafah to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the conquest of Makkah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abu Bakr: "If you had left the old man in his house, we would have come to him, out of honor for Abu Bakr." He said: He accepted Islam with his beard and head like the thaghamah plant. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Change it, and keep him away from black dye."
