حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ:

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ خَثْعَمَ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ أَيِّمٌ، وَإِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَتَزَوَّجَ، فَمَا حَقُّ الزَّوْجِ عَلَى زَوْجَتِهِ ؟ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُ ذَلِكَ، وَإِلَّا جَلَسْتُ أَيِّمًا ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: إِنَّ حَقَّ الزَّوْجِ عَلَى زَوْجَتِهِ إِذَا أَرَادَهَا عَلَى نَفْسِهَا وَهِيَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَعِيرِهِ لَا تَمْنَعُهُ، وَمِنْ حَقِّ الزَّوْجِ عَلَى الزَّوْجَةِ أَنْ لَا تُعْطِيَ مِنْ بَيْتِهَا إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ، وَإِنْ فَعَلَتْ ذَلِكَ كَانَ الْإِثْمُ عَلَيْهَا وَالْأَجْرُ لِغَيْرِهَا، وَمِنْ حَقِّ الزَّوْجِ عَلَى الزَّوْجَةِ أَنْ لَا تَخْرُجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ، فَإِنْ فَعَلَتْ ذَلِكَ لَعَنَتْهَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ حَتَّى تَرْجِعَ أَوْ تَتُوبَ

Translation

✧ A woman from Khatham came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'O Prophet of Allah, I am a single woman and I want to marry. What is the right of the husband over his wife? If I can fulfill it, then good; otherwise I will remain unmarried.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'The right of the husband over his wife is that if he desires her while she is on the back of his camel, she should not refuse him. Among the rights of the husband over the wife is that she should not give anything from his house except with his permission; if she does so, the sin is on her and the reward is for someone else. Among the rights of the husband over the wife is that she should not leave his house except with his permission; if she does so, the angels curse her until she returns or repents.'
