✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, and he came upon two graves whose occupants were being punished. He said, 'Indeed, they are not being punished for something great. One of them used to backbite people, and the other was not careful from his urine.' He called for a fresh palm branch or two branches, broke them, then commanded each piece to be planted on a grave. The Messenger of God ﷺ said, 'Indeed, it will lighten their punishment as long as they remain fresh, or as long as they do not dry.'
