✧ There was with the Mother of the Believers ʿĀʾishah a woman who had a boy with his nostrils dripping blood. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered and said: "What is the matter with this boy?" She said: "He has the ʿudhrah (tonsillitis/quinsy)." He said: "Woe to you, O womenfolk! Do not kill your children. Any woman whose child has ʿudhrah or a pain in his head should take Indian costus, grind it, then administer it through the nose." Then he instructed ʿĀʾishah, and she did that to the boy, and he recovered.
