The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon Umm Salamah, and with her was a boy whose nostrils were gushing blood. The Prophet ﷺ said: "What is this?" They said: "He has ʿudhrah (a throat ailment)." The Prophet ﷺ said: "Why do you torment your children? It is enough for one of you to take Indian costus, grind it with water seven times, and then pour it into his mouth." He said: So they did it, and he recovered.
