✧ We advanced with the Messenger of God ﷺ, unaware of the ambush that the people had prepared for us. We entered the valley of Hunayn in the darkness of dawn, and it is a deep valley among the valleys of Tihama, sloping downward, where they descend steeply. He said: By God, the people were following one another without knowing anything, when suddenly the battalions surprised them from every direction. The people did not wait to turn back in retreat. He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ moved to the right. He said: Where are you, O people? I am the Messenger of God, I am Muhammad b. Abdullah.
