✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ passed between Abu Bakr and ʿUmar while Abdullah was praying. He had begun Surah al-Nisa and was reciting it. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Whoever would love to recite the Quran fresh as it was revealed, let him recite it as Ibn Umm ʿAbd recites it. Then he asked, and the Messenger of God ﷺ kept saying: Ask and you will be given, ask and you will be given. Among what he asked was: O God, I ask You for faith that does not turn back, and bliss that does not run out, and the companionship of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the highest garden of eternity. Then ʿUmar went to Abdullah to give him the good news, but found Abu Bakr already outside, having beaten him to it, and he said: If you did that, you are indeed foremost in good.
