✧ I was praying in the mosque when the Messenger of God ﷺ entered with Abu Bakr and Umar. I recited Surah al-Nisa fluently and read it. When I finished, I sat and began praising God, Mighty and Glorious, and invoking blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ, then I supplicated for myself. The Messenger of God ﷺ said, 'Ask and you will be given; ask and you will be given.' Then he said, 'Whoever loves to recite the Qur'an fresh, let him recite as Ibn Umm Abd recites.' I returned to my home, and Abu Bakr came to me and said, 'Do you remember anything of what you supplicated?' I said, 'Yes: O God, I ask You for faith that does not turn back, blessing that does not run out, and the companionship of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the highest Garden of Eternity.' Then Umar also came to me and gave me glad tidings.
