✧ The Banu Qurayza surrendered to the judgment of Sa'd b. Mu'adh, so a message was sent to Sa'd, and he came on a donkey. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Stand up for your best one—or: for your chief." He said: "These people have surrendered to your judgment." He said: "Then I judge that their fighters be killed and their offspring be taken captive." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "You have judged by the judgment of Allah," and once he said: "You have judged by the judgment of the King."

machine translationHe was asked about the hadith of ʿĀmir b. Saʿd, from Saʿd, and he said: Saʿd b. Ibrāhīm narrated it, and there is disagreement about him. Muḥammad b. Ṣāliḥ al-Tammār narrated it from Saʿd b. Ibrāhīm, from ʿĀmir b. Saʿd, from Saʿd. ʿIyāḍ b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān contradicted him and narrated it from Saʿd b. Ibrāhīm, from his father, from his grandfather ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAwf. Both of them are mistaken (wahm). Shuʿbah contradicted them both and narrated it from Saʿd, from Abū Umāmah b. Sahl b. Ḥunayf, from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, and that is the correct (ṣawāb) version.
