✧ On the Day of the Confederates, Sa'd b. Mu'adh was shot, and they severed his median cubital vein. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cauterized it with fire. His hand became swollen, so he left it, and the blood kept flowing. He cauterized it another time, and his hand became swollen. When he saw that, he said: 'O Allah, do not take my soul until my eye is cooled regarding Banu Qurayzah.' His vein then held fast, and not a drop fell until they surrendered to the judgment of Sa'd b. Mu'adh. He sent word concerning them, saying: 'Their men are to be killed, and their women and children are to be spared.' The Muslims took them as spoils. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'You have hit upon Allah's judgment concerning them.' They were four hundred. When he finished killing them, his vein burst open, and he died.
