✧ "We became extremely poor, and my family told me to go to the Messenger of God ﷺ and ask him for something. So I went, and the first thing I heard the Prophet of God ﷺ say was: 'Whoever seeks to be self-sufficient, God will make him self-sufficient; whoever seeks to abstain, God will make him abstain; and whoever asks us, we will not withhold anything from him if we find it' — or as he said. I said to myself: I will seek self-sufficiency and God will make me self-sufficient, and I will seek abstinence and God will make me abstain. So I did not ask the Prophet ﷺ for anything."
