Show the chain

The Prophet ﷺ said: A person who performs umrah should shout talbiyah till he touches the Black Stone. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been transmitted by 'Abd al-Malik b. Abi Sulaiman and Hammam from 'Ata on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas as his own statement (i.e. the tradition was not attributed to the Prophet)

  • Ibn Khuzaymah

machine translationWhen I examined the report of ʿUbayd b. Jurayj, it contained what indicates that the Prophet ﷺ used to stop the talbiyah when he entered the ʿurūsh of Makkah. And the report of ʿUbayd b. Jurayj is firmer in its chain of transmission than the report of ʿAṭāʾ, because Ibn Abī Laylā is not a reliable memorizer (ḥāfiẓ), even though he is a jurist and a scholar.
