✧ Wiping over the leather socks

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ،
أَنَّ عُمَرَ، قَالَ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ: عَمُّكَ أَعْلَمُ مِنِّي - يَعْنِي سَعْدًا - إِذَا أَدْخَلْتَ رِجْلَيْكَ الْخُفَّيْنِ وَهُمَا طَاهِرَتَانِ فَامْسَحْ عَلَيْهِمَا وَإِنْ جِئْتَ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ
Translation
✧ 'Umar said to 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar: Your paternal uncle — meaning Sa'd — knows more than I. If you put your feet into the leather socks while they are pure, then wipe over them, even if you come from defecating.
