✧ Wiping over the leather socks

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ،
أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، رَأَى سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، يَمْسَحُ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ، فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عَبْدُ اللهِ، فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ: إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ أَنْكَرَ عَلَيَّ أَنْ أَمْسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيَّ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: لَا يَتَخَلَّجَنَّ فِي نَفْسِ رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ وَإِنْ كَانَ جَاءَ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ
Translation
✧ Ibn 'Umar saw Sa'd b. Abi Waqqas wiping over his leather socks, and 'Abd Allah disapproved of that. Sa'd said: 'Abd Allah disapproved of my wiping over my leather socks. 'Umar said: Let it not stir in the heart of any Muslim man that he may perform ablution over his leather socks, even if he has come from defecating.
