عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ شَقِيقِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ:
أَهْلَلْنَا هِلَالَ رَمَضَانَ بِحُلْوَانَ، أَوْ بِالْمَدَائِنِ، وَفِينَا رِجَالٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَنَادَى أَمِيرُهُمْ: " مَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَصُومَ فَلْيَصُمْ، وَمَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يُفْطِرَ فَلْيُفْطِرْ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ صَامَ فِي السَّفَرِ وَأَفْطَرَ
Translation
✧ We sighted the crescent of Ramadan at Hulwan, or at al-Mada'in, and among us were men from the Companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ. Their commander called out: "Whoever of you wishes to fast, let him fast; and whoever of you wishes to break the fast, let him break it. For the Messenger of God ﷺ fasted while traveling and broke the fast."
