✧ One Who Forgot the Prayer of Residence, and Combining Two Prayers While Traveling

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، وَمُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ:
أُخْبِرَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ بِوَجَعِ امْرَأَتَهِ وَهُوَ فِي سَفَرٍ، فَأَخَّرَ الْمَغْرِبَ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: الصَّلَاةَ، فَسَكَتَ وَأَخَّرَهَا بَعْدَ ذَهَابِ الشَّفَقِ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ هَوِيٌّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " هَكَذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُ إِذَا أَجَدَّ بِهِ السَّيْرُ أَوْ أَجَدَّ بِهِ الْمَسِيرُ
Translation
✧ Ibn 'Umar was informed of his wife's illness while he was on a journey, so he delayed the sunset prayer. He was told: 'The prayer,' but he remained silent and delayed it until after the twilight had disappeared and a portion of the night had passed. Then he dismounted and prayed the sunset and night prayers together, then said: 'This is how the Messenger of God ﷺ used to do when travel urged him on, or when the journey urged him on.'
