✧ Prayer at the time of fighting with swords

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ طَاوُسٍ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ قَالَ:
﴿أَنْ تَقْصُرُوا مِنَ الصَّلاةِ إِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَنْ يَفْتِنَكُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ﴾قَالَ: قَصْرُهَا فِي الْخَوْفِ وَالْقِتَالِ، الصَّلَاةُ فِي كُلِّ وَجْهٍ رَاكِبًا وَمَاشِيًا قَالَ: " أَمَّا صَلَاةُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ هَاتَيْنِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ، وَصَلَاةُ النَّاسِ فِي السَّفَرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، فَلَيْسَ بِقَصْرٍ، هُوَ وَفَاؤُهَا ". طَاوُسٌ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ
Translation
✧ “That you shorten the prayer if you fear that those who disbelieve may put you to trial.” He said: Its shortening is in fear and fighting—prayer in every direction, mounted and on foot. He said: “As for the prayer of the Prophet ﷺ of these two rakʿahs, and the prayer of the people on journey of two rakʿahs, it is not shortening; it is its completion.” Ṭāwūs used to say that.
