✧ The prayer of fear

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ قَالَ:
صَلَاةُ الْخَوْفِ قَالَ: يَقُومُ الْإِمَامُ وَيَقُومُ خَلْفَهُ صَفٌّ، وَصَفٌّ مُوَازِيَ الْعَدُوِّ فِي غَيْرِ صَلَاةٍ، فَيُصَلِّي بِالصَّفِّ الَّذِي خَلْفَهُ رَكْعَةً، ثُمَّ يَنْصَرِفُونَ عَلَى أَعْقَابِهِمْ مُوَازِيَ الْعَدُوِّ، وَيَجِيءُ الصَّفُّ الْآخَرُونَ، فَيُصَلُّونَ مَعَ الْإِمَامِ رَكْعَةً، ثُمَّ يَقُومُونَ فَيَنْطَلِقُونَ إِلَى مَصَافِّهِمْ، وَالْإِمَامُ قَاعِدٌ، وَيَجِيءُ الْأَوَّلُونَ وَالْإِمَامُ قَاعِدٌ، فَيَرْكَعُونَ وَيَسْجُدُونَ، وَلَا يَقْرَءُونَ، وَيَجْلِسُونَ مَعَ الْإِمَامِ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ بِهِمْ فَيُصَلِّي بِهِمُ الثَّانِيَةَ، ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمُ الْإِمَامُ، فَيَنْطَلِقُونَ إِلَى مَصَافِّهِمْ، وَيَجِيءُ الْآخَرُونَ فَيُصَلُّونَ رَكْعَةً يَقْرَءُونَ فِيهَا ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُونَ، وَيَتَشَهَّدُونَ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُونَ مَكَانَهُمْ فَيُصَلُّونَ رَكْعَةً أُخْرَى لَا يَقْرَءُونَ فِيهَا إِلَّا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ إِنْ شَاءُوا، وَيَتَشَهَّدُونَ وَيُسَلِّمُونَ
Translation
✧ The prayer of fear: He said: The imam stands and behind him stands one row, and another row facing the enemy not in prayer. He prays with the row behind him one rakʿah, then they depart on their heels to face the enemy, and the other row comes and prays with the imam one rakʿah. Then they stand and go to their positions while the imam is sitting. The first group comes while the imam is sitting, and they bow and prostrate, and they do not recite, and they sit with the imam. Then he rises with them and prays with them the second [rakʿah], then the imam says the taslim, and they depart to their positions, and the others come and pray one rakʿah in which they recite, then they sit and perform the tashahhud, then they stand in their place and pray another rakʿah in which they do not recite except with the Fātiḥat al-Kitāb if they wish, and they perform the tashahhud and say the taslim.
