✧ The prayer of fear

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ خَلَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ:
لَمْ يُصَلِّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ إِلَّا مَرَّتَيْنِ، مَرَّةً بِذِي الرِّقَاعِ مِنْ أَرْضِ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ، وَمَرَّةً بِعُسْفَانَ، وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ بِضَجْنَانَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ " قَالَ: " فَصَفَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَصْحَابَهُ كُلَّهُمْ خَلْفَهُ، وَهُمْ بِعُسْفَانَ، ثُمَّ تَقَدَّمَ فَصَلَّى، فَرَكَعَ بِهِمْ جَمِيعًا، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ بِالَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ، وَقَامَ الْآخَرُونَ خَلْفَهُ يَحْرُسُونَهُ، فَلَمَّا سَجَدَ بِهِمْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ قَامُوا، وَسَجَدَ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ خَلْفَهُ، ثُمَّ تَقَدَّمُوا إِلَى الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ، وَتَأَخَّرُوا هَؤُلَاءِ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ بِهِمْ جَمِيعًا، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ بِالَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ، وَقَامُوا الْآخَرُونَ يَحْرُسُونَهُمْ، فَلَمَّا رَفَعُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ مِنَ السَّجْدَةِ سَجَدَ أُولَئِكَ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَيْهِمْ جَمِيعًا، وَتَمَّتْ لَهُمْ صَلَاتُهُمْ
Translation
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not pray the prayer of fear except twice: once at Dhat al-Riqa' in the land of Banu Sulaym, and once at Usfan, while the polytheists were at Dajnan, between them and the qiblah. He said: The Prophet ﷺ lined up all his companions behind him, while they were at Usfan. Then he advanced and prayed, and he bowed with all of them. Then he prostrated with those next to him, and the others stood behind him guarding him. When he had prostrated two prostrations with them, they stood up, and those behind him prostrated. Then they advanced to the front row, and these withdrew. Then he bowed with all of them, then he prostrated with those next to him, and the others stood guarding them. When they raised their heads from the prostration, those prostrated. Then the Prophet ﷺ said the taslim upon all of them, and their prayer was complete.
