✧ The people who gather: who should lead them

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ، عَنْ مُهَاجِرِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ قَالَ: اجْتَمَعَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ، فَقَالَ سَعِيدٌ لِأَبِي سَلَمَةَ: حَدِّثْ فَإِنَّا سَنَتَّبِعُكَ، فَقَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
إِذَا كَانَ ثَلَاثَةٌ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلْيَؤُمَّهُمْ أَقْرَؤُهُمْ، فَإِنْ كَانَ أَصْغَرَهُمْ سِنًّا فَإِذَا أَمَّهُمْ فَهُوَ أَمِيرُهُمْ "، قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ: فَذَاكُمْ أَمِيرٌ أَمَّرَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ - ﷺ
Translation
✧ When three people are on a journey, the one who knows the most Quran should lead them in prayer. If he is the youngest of them, then when he leads them, he is their leader." Abu Salamah said: "That is a leader appointed by the Messenger of God ﷺ.
