✧ The rulers who delay the prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ قَالَ:
أَخَّرَ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الصَّلَاةَ، فَسَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ صَامِتٍ، فَضَرَبَ فَخِذِي، ثُمَّ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ خَلِيلِي أَبَا ذَرٍّ، فَضَرَبَ فَخِذِي، ثُمَّ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ خَلِيلِي - يَعْنِي - النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَضَرَبَ فَخِذِي، فَقَالَ: صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا، فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتَ فَصَلِّ مَعَهُمْ، وَلَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ: إِنِّي قَدْ صَلَّيْتُ فَلَا يُصَلِّي
Translation
✧ Ubayd Allah b. Ziyad delayed the prayer. I asked Abd Allah b. Samit, and he struck my thigh, then said: I asked my close friend Abu Dharr, and he struck my thigh, then said: I asked my close friend, meaning the Prophet ﷺ, and he struck my thigh and said: Pray the prayer at its time. If you catch it, then pray with them, and let none of you say: I have already prayed, so he should not pray.
