✧ The prayer of the Prophet ﷺ

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُبَيْدَ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ يَقُصُّ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ قَالَ:
صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ وَانْصَرَفَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ قُلْتُ: وَوَلَّى ؟ قَالَ: وَوَلَّى، فَأَدْرَكَهُ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ - أَخُو بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ - قَالَ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، أَنَسِيتَ أَمْ خَفَّفْتَ عَنَّا الصَّلَاةَ ؟ قَالَ: " وَمَا ذَاكَ ؟ " قَالَ: صَلَّيْتَ الْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَالَ: أَصَدَقَ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ أَخُو بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ ؟ قَالَ النَّاسُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ، حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ "، قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى بِهِمْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ prayed 'Asr as two rak'ahs, then said the taslim and went to his family. I said: "And he turned away?" He said: "And he turned away." Dhu al-Yadayn, the brother of Banu Sulaym, caught up with him and said: "O Prophet of God, did you forget, or have you lightened the prayer for us?" He said: "And what is that?" He said: "You prayed 'Asr as two rak'ahs." He said: "Has Dhu al-Yadayn, the brother of Banu Sulaym, spoken the truth?" The people said: "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ said: "Come to success, come to success." The prayer has been established. Then he prayed two rak'ahs with them, then he left.
