✧ The prayer of the Prophet ﷺ

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ، وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَمَّنْ يُقْنِعَانِ بِحَدِيثِهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ
صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ فِي صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ أَوْ صَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ ذُو الشِّمَالَيْنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ عَمْرٍو: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، أَقَصُرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ أَمْ نَسِيتَ ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " لَمْ تَقْصُرْ وَلَمْ أَنْسَ "، فَقَالَ لَهُ ذُو الشِّمَالَيْنِ: بَلَى بِأَبِي يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، قَدْ كَانَ بَعْضُ ذَلِكَ، فَالْتَفَتَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ: " أَصَدَقَ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ ؟ " قَالُوا: نَعَمْ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، فَقَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ حِينَ اسْتَيْقَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ - ﷺ
Translation
✧ He prayed two rak'ahs in the 'Asr prayer or the Zuhr prayer, then he said the taslim. Dhu al-Shimalayn b. 'Abd 'Amr said to him: "O Prophet of God, has the prayer been shortened, or did you forget?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "It has not been shortened, nor did I forget." Dhu al-Shimalayn said to him: "Indeed, by my father, O Prophet of God, some of that has happened." The Prophet ﷺ turned to the people and said: "Has Dhu al-Yadayn spoken the truth?" They said: "Yes, O Prophet of God." Then the Messenger of God ﷺ stood up for the prayer when he was certain.
