Translation
✧ A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ prayed with the Prophet ﷺ and recited Sūrat al-Baqarah. He recited it beautifully, clearly, and eloquently. He did not pass by any verse mentioning Paradise except that he asked about it, nor any verse mentioning the Fire except that he sought refuge at it. When he finished it, he bowed and said: 'Glory be to the Lord of dominion, might, pride, and greatness.' Then he raised his head and said the like of that when he raised his head. Then he prostrated and remained for a while saying the like of what he had remained saying after raising his head from bowing. Then he raised his head and stood, and recited Āl ʿImrān in the same manner. Then he finished it and did the same as he had done in bowing and prostration, and when raising his head from bowing and prostration, saying that in all of it as he had done in the first rakʿah. The man said to him when morning came: 'O Prophet of Allah, I wanted to pray a prayer like that but I could not.' He said: 'You will not be able to do what I can do. I fear for you for the sake of Allah.'
